If you bought the book, off Amazon, this zip file contains the training data files needed.
VIDEO coming by January 10 2018:
Short video on the "art of the possible" with Tableau. In under 5 minutes, connect to data, create 4 views, put the views on a dashboard, make it interactive, AND, find insights - NEVER TOUCHING THE KEYBOARD! This is NOT a training video - it is just meant to show how value can be had, with very little effort!
VIDEO coming by Janauary 12 2018:
15 minute video to be used by someone with ZERO Tableau experience, Gets the viewer to the point of understanding what Tableau Desktop is, what it can do, how to get started. For professors, how to be comfortable pushing it on your students!
Link to the HUB of Analytics Education, providing Open Educational Resources (OER) to faculty in Higher Education. This is not just accounting oriented. This is a GREAT site to get data, example use, and assistance in bring data analytics into ANY classroom!
AAA-Keynote.pptx - Getting Visual Analytics into the Accounting Classroom
This is the Powerpoint used in the AAA 2017 Regional meetings keynote.
AAA-Concurrent.pptx - How Big Data and Analytics fit into the Accounting Classroom
This is the Powerpoint also used in the concurrent session that Robyn Raschke and I did at the 2017 AAA Regional meetings.
Tableau Extract of over a BILLION rows!
This extract file contains 1,000,000,090 records in a Tableau data extract - compatible with Tableau Desktop 10.2 and later.
Splitter.zip - Process / instructions for taking a text file and splitting it into individual words,
then, plotting the words (via the included Tableau workbook)
This is the process that can be used to analyze text files. Initially, it is a simple "How any times did each word appear in a text file" chart, but, in a version to be uploaded soon, multiple files can be compared, not for the individual words used, but, for the parts of speech used - an aid to catching "creatively" plagiarized papers!
Do you know of a class like this?
